Effie Jia is a student from the Bay Area, currently studying architecture at MIT. Growing up, she was trained in traditional art and mainly worked in charcoal or oil paint; however, architecture has helped broaden her understanding of media, form, and design. She is also inspired by the natural world, which often influences her art. On campus, she is involved in various groups including Rune, MIT’s art and literary magazine, and UA Sustainability.
